Esther Wojcicki, Marco’s grandmother, expressed her deep sorrow and anguish, suggesting that he may have succumbed to a drug overdose after confirming his identity and tragic demise.
Esther told SFGATE : ‘He ingested a drug, and we don’t know what was in it,’ she said. ‘One thing we do know, it was a drug. UC Berkeley spokesperson Janet Gilmore emphasized that while there were no apparent signs of foul play, the exact cause of Troper’s death, whether resulting from a drug overdose or otherwise, remained unconfirmed.

Despite the efforts of law enforcement and ambulance personnel, a 19-year-old woman was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.
“We are working to ensure the woman’s family are informed of this tragic news and will be provided with support by the Met during these incredibly difficult times ahead,” added Instone.
