On the afternoon of February 21, 2024, at approximately 4:37 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a serious motor vehicle accident on Crain Highway in the vicinity of Substation Road. On May 9, 2023, at around 9:16 a.m., emergency services including police, fire, and rescue personnel, were dispatched to the intersection of Crain Highway and Mattawoman Drive in response to a serious motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, responders discovered multiple vehicles involved in the collision, with one occupant trapped.
Firefighters diligently worked to extricate the trapped individual, identified as a 39-year-old female, completing the extraction around 9:33 a.m. The patient was then handed over to Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for immediate medical attention.
After evaluation at the scene, the patient was subsequently transported by ambulance to UM Capitol Region Trauma Center for further treatment. Crews remained engaged at the scene for approximately 30 minutes to manage the aftermath of the accident.
